Les 3 caves – De Drie Kalders – Flemish restaurant/estaminet in Saint-Omer

A Flemish tavern near the Audomarois marshes and the boat makers

A real Flemish tavern in the city center of Saint-Omer

Les Trois Caves (De Drie Kalders in Flemish) is an institution in Saint-Omer. This tavern located on the Grand Place in Saint-Omer offers a resolutely regional menu as well as a typical atmosphere with its vaulted cellars.

Housed in a very old Audomaroise building, the Trois Caves is the ideal place to take the time to eat well, with family or friends, less than 2,5 kilometers from the Quazis des Faiseurs de Bateaux. Or 10 minutes by car.

What do we eat at the 3 caves?

Les Trois Caves in Saint-Omer offers a menu featuring traditional Flemish dishes. We find there the Flemish carbonade with gingerbread, the potjevleesch, the welsh… This estaminet is also known for its “Chti Burgers” and its pieces of beef served “à la gallows”.

As an aperitif, go for a marrow bone or a slice of lard.

The desserts are just as delicious and give pride of place to coffee, chicory and other local specialities.
