Discover the Aa Valley aboard an old train!
At the heart of the Caps et Marais d'Opale Regional Nature Park, the Aa Valley Tourist Railway (CFTVA) connects Arques to Lumbres over 15 km of railway.
This unusual tourist activity is offered by an association created in 1988, bringing together train enthusiasts. Their missions? The safeguarding and restoration of rolling stock and railway heritage as well as the management of the tourist line of the Aa valley, on which old trains regularly run (steam train, railcar, etc.)
The tourist train runs on weekends and public holidays from May 1st until the first weekend of October. Outside the time slots, groups can book a train in advance from 25 people.
It is thus possible for you to combine, on the Audomarois territory, two totally unusual and exotic activities: the discovery of the marshes of St Omer by boat and a stroll in the heart of the Aa valley.

The association has various old trains that have been restored to offer unforgettable tourist trips today. Among the association's collection, we can count, in particular, a German steam locomotive series 52, two "Picasso" railcars X3817 and X3853, two EAD "Caravelle" railcars X4790 and X4795, a diesel-electric locomotive as well as two UIC coaches and USI 2nd Class.
Themed trains all year round
The Aa Valley Tourist Railway Association regularly organizes special themed trains: Christmas train, carnival train, Easter train, Halloween train, etc.
Individual or group: discover Audomarois by train or boat
For a tourist stay with the family at the weekend, discover the territory in two original ways! Embark on a traditional boat on the quays of the Makers of Boats to cross the marsh of Saint-Omer or embark on a collector's train!
For group activities, our two structures can organize themselves to create a combined service, combining boat rental or guided boat tours in the marshes of Saint-Omer and Clairmarais, visits to shipyards and old train rides...
