Who else is in the "French 4,9+ Club" alongside us?

4,9/5 on Google and 2100 reviews, that's something to celebrate!

2100 visitors have shared their experiences on Google following their visit to the marsh and/or their meal by the water… 2100 thanks!

Result: a score of 4,9/5. Incredible! We've joined a very exclusive club, the "4,9+ club"!

We've identified a few tourist sites with a rating of 4,9 or 5 and over 2000 reviews. Can you find any others? The first three correct answers will win an all-inclusive day at our place for two! Ready to investigate?

Yes indeed, 4,9/5 based on 2100 reviews!!!!

Intrigued by this result, we searched in France for other tourist sites to visit, museums, monuments and activities offering cultural, heritage or discovery visits, displaying a comparable score.

We have already identified some of them: The 39-45 Memorial Museum in Plougonvelin, the Champagne & cellars of JOSEPH PERRIER, the British Memorial of Normandy in Ver-sur-Mer and the Blue Lagoon excursions in Guadeloupe.

That's why we're launching the French 4,9 Challenge today !

The first three people to provide us with a valid address not on our initial list will each win a full day for two at our place! This includes: a guided tour of the marsh and the shipyard, lunch by the water with aperitif, main course, drink, dessert and coffee, and a self-guided tour in an electric boat (prize value: €132).

Below you will find all the conditions and rules of the challenge.

How does it work?

Rules

RULES OF THE "THE FRENCH 4,9+ CLUB" CHALLENGE

Article 1 — Organizer

This challenge is organized by:

The Boat Builders
COLIN SARL
43 road to Clairmarais
62500 Saint-Omer
France

Contact email address:
lesfaiseursdebateaux (@) gmail.com

Hereinafter referred to as "the Organizer".

Article 2 — Purpose of the challenge

To mark the passing of the 2,100 Google review mark with a displayed rating of 4,9/5, Les Faiseurs de Bateaux are organizing a participatory search aimed at identifying other French tourist sites that also have a high number of Google reviews and an excellent rating.

The aim of the challenge is to complete a list of tourist, cultural, heritage activities and sites to visit located in France, managed by an organization/person and displayed on a single Google listing:

  • a note of at least 4,9/5 ;
  • at least 2,000 Google reviews.

An initial list of establishments already identified by the Organizer is published at the launch of the challenge. Establishments appearing on this list cannot constitute a winning proposal.

The list:

  • Plougonvelin Memorial Museum 39-45
  • Champagne & cellars JOSEPH PERRIER
  • British Memorial of Normandy at Ver-sur-Mer
  • Blue Lagoon Excursion Guadeloupe

Article 3 — Duration

The challenge begins on:

28th July 2026

It will end as soon as the Organizer has received and validated three separate winning proposals , under the conditions defined by these rules.

However, a deadline is set for:

31/10/2026 à 23h59

If three winning entries have not been validated by this date, the challenge will be closed. Only valid entries received before this deadline will then be eligible for a prize, up to the number of valid entries received.

The Organizer will publicly announce the closing of the challenge upon validation of the third winning proposal or upon arrival of the deadline.

Article 4 — Conditions of participation

Participation is:

  • free;
  • no purchase obligation;
  • open to any adult individual;
  • limited to one winning entry per person.

Participation implies full and complete acceptance of these rules.

Article 5 — Method of participation

Proposals are counted exclusively by email , sent to the following address:

lesfaiseursdebateaux (@) gmail.com

The recommended subject line for the message is:

Club competition for 4,9

To be complete, the proposal must include:

  1. the first and last name of the participant;
  2. the exact name of the proposed establishment;
  3. the city in which this establishment is located;
  4. the direct link to its Google or Google Maps listing;
  5. A screenshot of this Google Maps listing.

The proposals sent:

  • in a comment on a social network;
  • via private message;
  • by telephone;
  • by postal mail;
  • orally;
  • or by any other email address

will not be counted.

A comment posted on social media does not guarantee priority booking at a particular establishment. Only a complete email sent to the address provided above will be considered.

Article 6 — Eligible Establishments

To be validated, the proposed establishment must cumulatively meet the following conditions at the time of the check carried out by the Organizer.

6.1. Location

The establishment must be physically located in France.

6.2. Nature of the activity

The establishment must fall into one of the following categories:

  • tourist visit activity;
  • cultural or heritage activity;
  • museum or site open to visitors;
  • an activity to discover a skill;

Specifically excluded are:

  • Natural sites, landscapes, etc., are not directly dependent on the management of an establishment.
  • Travel agencies/tour operators coordinating trips that they do not organize themselves.
  • Booking platforms;
  • directories;
  • restaurants, hotels and accommodations not offering a clearly identifiable tourist visit activity;
  • businesses without tourist or cultural activity;
  • Amusement/theme parks
  • exclusively digital services;
  • The businesses that have closed permanently.

6.3. Rating and number of reviews

The establishment's Google listing should display:

  • a grade equal to or higher 4,9/5 ;
  • at least 2,000 Google reviews.

When Google uses an abbreviated display, for example "2k", the Organizer may open the listing or use any reasonable means to verify that the threshold of 2,000 reviews has actually been reached.

The rating and number of reviews displayed directly by Google at the time of the check take precedence over the information shown:

  • on the establishment's website;
  • on his social media;
  • based on a press article;
  • in a directory;
  • on Tripadvisor, Trustpilot, Facebook, Booking, GetYourGuide, Viator or any other platform.

6.4. Single Google listing

The rating and number of reviews must appear on a single Google listing corresponding to a specific establishment/site.

The following are not permitted:

  • the cumulative reviews from multiple Google listings;
  • the accumulation of several agencies, restaurants, venues, branches or locations;
  • the aggregation between several review platforms;
  • an average calculated from several establishments;
  • the total of a network, a franchise or an entire brand.

A particular location belonging to a chain or network may, however, be admitted if its own Google listing individually meets all the criteria.

6.5. Absence of the initial list

The proposed establishment/tourist site must not be included in the initial list of establishments already identified by the Organizer.

This list is finalized on July 28, 2026 and published in this regulation.

A minor spelling error or a difference in translation in the name of an establishment does not allow an establishment already present in the initial list to be considered as new.

Article 7 — Order of receipt and validation

Proposals are reviewed in the chronological order in which emails are received by the Organizer's email system.

The date and time displayed in the inbox of the address lesfaiseursdebateaux (@) gmail.com shall be considered authentic.

An incomplete proposal does not guarantee any priority.

If essential information is missing or illegible, the Organizer may ask the participant to complete their email. In this case, the proposal will be considered complete on the date and time the additional information is received.

The Organizer will directly verify the provided Google listing.

A proposal is considered a winner only after written confirmation of its validation by the Organizer.

An automatic or manual acknowledgment of receipt of an email does not constitute validation of the proposal.

Article 8 — Identical and Multiple Propositions

A single Google listing can only be verified once.

When several people propose the same establishment, only the first complete and valid proposal received by email can be considered.

People who subsequently submitted the same proposal can continue to participate by proposing another establishment as long as the challenge is not closed.

A single person can submit multiple different entries. However, they can only win one prize.

If a person already declared the winner submits another valid proposal, this new proposal will not be able to occupy one of the other two winning places.

The three winning proposals must therefore come from three different participants and concern three distinct establishments/sites.

Article 9 — Designation of the winners

The winners are the first three different people who have submitted, under the conditions set out in these rules, a complete proposal relating to an establishment/site:

  • distinct ;
  • valid ;
  • absent from the initial list;
  • and not already validly proposed by another participant who arrived before them.

No draw is held.

Each validated proposal entitles the holder to a prize, limited to one prize per person and three prizes in total.

The Organizer will inform each winner by return email.

The winner must confirm acceptance of their prize within fifteen calendar days of the confirmation message being sent.

If no response is received within this timeframe, and after a reminder remains unanswered for an additional seven days, the winner will be deemed to have forfeited their prize. The Organizer may then award the prize to the author of the next valid entry received before the challenge closes.

Article 10 — Endowments

Each of the three winners will receive a day for two people at Les Faiseurs de Bateaux including:

  • two places for a guided tour of the Audomarois marsh offered by Les Faiseurs de Bateaux;
  • two meals according to the formula: aperitif, main course à la carte, drink, dessert and coffee;
  • Electric boat rental for two people for 1 hour 30 minutes.

The indicative commercial value of each lot is:

€ 132 including VAT.

The lot is:

  • valid for 1 year;
  • usable upon prior reservation;
  • subject to opening hours;
  • subject to the Organizer's availability;
  • subject to weather and navigation conditions;
  • subject to the usual rules of security and access to activities.

The date of arrival will be determined by mutual agreement between the winner and the Organizer.

The lot does not include:

  • transport to Saint-Omer;
  • accommodation;
  • personal expenses;
  • additional services not expressly mentioned;
  • any consumption outside of the planned meal plan.

The winner may bring a guest of their choice. If the guest is a minor, they remain under the responsibility of their legal guardian or the accompanying adult.

The lot is personal. It cannot be:

  • exchanged for money;
  • reimbursed;
  • resold;
  • fractional;
  • replaced by another service at the winner's request.

In the event of a permanent impossibility to provide an announced service, the Organizer will offer a service of equivalent or superior nature and value.

Article 11 — Publication of results

The Organizer may publicly announce:

  • the winner's first name;
  • the initial of his name;
  • his city or country of residence, subject to his agreement;
  • the name of the establishment/site discovered;
  • the city of this establishment/site;
  • the rating and the number of reviews recorded at the time of validation.

The participant's email address will never be published.

Any further publication regarding the identity or image of a winner will require their prior consent.

Article 12 — Fraud and Unfair Conduct

Any participation based on:

  • a false identity;
  • a falsified capture;
  • a non-existent or manipulated Google listing;
  • deliberately misleading information;
  • an attempt to change the order of receipt;
  • usurpation of another participant's proposal;
  • or any fraudulent process

will be cancelled.

The Organizer may request any information reasonably necessary to verify the proposal.

However, a proposal cannot be rejected arbitrarily. Any rejection will be based on one of the objective criteria set out in these regulations.

Article 13 — Evolution of Google ratings

Google ratings and review counts can change at any time.

For the review of a proposal, only the information publicly visible on the Google listing at the time of the first check carried out by the Organizer is taken into account.

A proposal will not be invalidated later if, after its validation:

  • the number of reviews is decreasing;
  • the displayed rating decreases;
  • Google removes or modifies some reviews;
  • the establishment changes its name;
  • or the record becomes temporarily inaccessible.

However, an old screenshot is not sufficient if the record no longer meets the criteria during the check.

The Organizer will keep a capture of the form or any other element that allows documentation of the validation.

Article 14 — Modification, postponement or cancellation

The Organizer reserves the right to modify, postpone, suspend or cancel the challenge in the event of:

  • force majeure;
  • of serious malfunction of the messaging system;
  • prolonged unavailability of Google or Google Maps;
  • of massive fraud;
  • of material error affecting the essential conditions of the challenge;
  • or any circumstance beyond its control preventing its normal course.

Any substantial changes will be announced through the same channel used to post the challenge.

A modification cannot call into question a prize that has already been definitively awarded, except in cases of proven fraud by the participant or impossibility resulting from a case of force majeure.

Article 15 — Responsibility

The Organizer cannot be held responsible for:

  • of an email that was not received, delayed, blocked or classified as spam;
  • due to an error in the email address used by the participant;
  • of a connection or transmission problem;
  • of an unreadable screenshot;
  • of a modification made by Google;
  • of a temporary unavailability of a Google listing;
  • of erroneous information published by a third-party establishment/site or platform.

It is the participant's responsibility to verify that their message has been sent to the correct address and that it contains all the requested elements.

Google, Google Maps, Facebook, Instagram and other networks or platforms possibly used to publicize the operation are neither organizers, nor sponsors, nor managers of this challenge.

Article 16 — Personal Data

The personal data collected is processed by Les Faiseurs de Bateaux in order to:

  • to record the participations;
  • to verify the proposals;
  • to contact the participants;
  • to designate the winners;
  • to organize the distribution and use of the prizes;
  • to deal with any potential disputes.

The data processed may include:

  • the name and surname;
  • the email address;
  • the information contained in the participation email;
  • the necessary elements for reserving the prize for the winners.

This data will not be used to send commercial communications, except with the separate, free and explicit consent of the person concerned.

They will not be sold or given away to commercial partners.

The data of non-winning participants will be deleted no later than six months after the closing of the challenge , unless it is necessary to keep it longer to process a dispute.

The winners' data will be kept for the time necessary to organize their visit, and then for the legal periods applicable to the accounting or supporting documents concerned.

In accordance with regulations on the protection of personal data, each participant may request:

  • access to his data;
  • their rectification;
  • their deletion when possible;
  • the limitation of their treatment;
  • or to object to certain treatments.

These requests can be sent to:

lesfaiseursdebateaux (@) gmail.com

Article 17 — Availability of the regulations

These regulations are available for consultation free of charge throughout the duration of the challenge.

Article 18 — Complaints

Any questions or complaints regarding the challenge should be sent by email.

Article 19 — Applicable Law

These regulations are subject to French law.

In case of disagreement, the parties will first seek an amicable solution.

In the absence of an amicable agreement, the dispute may be brought before the competent jurisdiction in accordance with the applicable legal rules, without this regulation being able to deprive a participant of the rights granted to him by law.
