General terms and conditions of sale/reservation

I – Organization

Depending on the "packages", we are able to accommodate groups of 20 to 72 people per two-hour slot or more for a "tailor-made" offer.

For groups larger than 40 people, the tour will be split in two: while one group visits the marsh, the other can explore the boat builders' workshop, enjoy a gourmet break, and learn about organic market gardening… with the groups switching after one hour. Please allow 2 hours on site for groups larger than 40 people.

For school groups, the organization of workshops and visits, according to classes, is detailed in the brochure "School Discoveries" (available on lesfaiseursdebateaux.fr)

Groups with fewer than 30 people can also be split according to organizational needs.

As soon as possible

– Reservations must be made in writing via this form as soon as possible. This form should include the date, time, approximate number of participants, and the desired service.

– Specific group pricing conditions apply to visits with a minimum of 20 people.

– Any changes must be made in writing to the following email address: Le******************@***il.com

A few days before arrival

The group leader communicates with the Boat Builders, preferably by email (le******************@***il.com), the exact number of participants. It also indicates, where applicable, any special diets and cases of allergies/intolerances in the event of meals being taken.

The same day

If the number of attendees decreases on the day of the event, the invoice may be reduced by up to one or two people per two-week period, depending on the service. Any increase in the number of attendees will be subject to availability.

III – Deposit

We require a deposit of €10 per participant prior to the arrival of our visitors, only for outings that include a meal.

For outings without meals, we traditionally operate on a basis of trust.

IV – Free services granted

Regarding guided tours

For adult groups: free admission is granted to bus drivers.

Children under 4 years old are admitted free of charge (excluding school trips).

For school groups, free admission is granted to accompanying persons (maximum 2 accompanying persons per dozen students for primary classes, 1 accompanying person per dozen students for secondary classes).

V – Pricing and payment:

The prices attached to these general terms and conditions of sale are expressed inclusive of all taxes (VAT), in Euros. These prices are valid until December 31, 2024. They are subject to change without notice, particularly in the event of changes in tax rates or high inflation. However, once a quote is signed by the customer, the prices quoted in that quote apply.

Payment is made on the day of the visit by cash or credit card, or following the visit by bank transfer or administrative order.

VI – Cancellation and modification conditions:

Regarding visits

• Cancellation or modification of the visit 1 week before the date of the visit: no charge.
• Cancellation less than one week before the departure date: a charge of 30% of the quote will be applied.
• Failure of the group to appear on the day: full charge for services booked.
• Reduction of staff on the same day: no charge for 2 missing people per fortnight, full charge beyond that.

Regarding meals eaten on the terrace

• Free cancellation more than 72 hours before the date and time of the meal.
• Less than 72 hours before the scheduled date and time of the meal, 50% of the quote amount will be charged to the client.
• Failure of the group to appear on the day: full charge for services booked.
• Change in the number of participants to a decrease on the same day: no charge for 1 missing person per fortnight registered, full charge beyond that.

Regarding meals on the water

• Free cancellation more than 48 hours before the date and time of the meal.
• Less than 48 hours before the scheduled date and time of the meal, the deposit will be retained.
• Failure of the group to appear on the day: full charge for services booked.

Any increase in staff numbers will be handled within the limits of available places.

Cancellation on the same day by one or more members of the group of one or more services cannot be subject to any refund or compensation by SARL Colin-Les Faiseurs de Bateaux.

In the event that this contract is concluded remotely, the customer (excluding legal entities) also benefits from the statutory 14-day withdrawal period provided for by the Consumer Code. Even if this period is respected, the right of withdrawal cannot be exercised if:

– The outing has been completed

The exit was supposed to take place, but the customer did not show up at the platform to use it.

– The time slots were reserved for the client, but they cancelled less than a week before departure. This is because the service includes not only the outing itself, but also the reservation of a specific time slot for the client.

VII – Safety/Responsibility

Each visitor and passenger must comply with the safety instructions given by the guide/boatman.

The Boat Builders decline all responsibility for loss (and theft) of personal belongings during the visit, a fortiori in the event of non-compliance with said instructions.

Regarding Canadian canoes, they are wide and stable. However, participants in the canoe tours attest to knowing how to swim. By default, each participant is equipped with a 50-Newton buoyancy aid vest. Those who cannot swim will be provided with a higher-strength life jacket upon request.

VIII – Complaints :

Complaints must be sent within 8 days of the visit, by registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt.

The boat builders are committed to providing a written response.

In the event of a dispute, and failing an amicable agreement, the parties may refer the matter to the competent French courts. French law shall apply.

IX – Personal Information – GDPR

In accordance with European data protection regulations and the French Data Protection Act of 1978 (amended on June 20, 2018), the buyer (acting as a private individual) has the right to information, access, modification, objection, rectification, withdrawal, and data portability regarding their personal data. By agreeing to these terms and conditions of sale, the buyer consents to the seller collecting and using their data for the necessary performance of this contract. Specifically, we collect the buyer's name, surname, email address, and purchased services in order to book tours and process invoices, send booking/cancellation confirmations and payment requests by email, send reminders before the day of the tour, and contact the customer afterward to allow them to provide feedback. Our website also uses cookies to improve the user experience. These cookies can, in particular, enable faster loading times and remember certain data to facilitate future bookings. Bank details, however, are not stored. Cookies are also useful for us to generate anonymized statistics.

 COLIN SARL undertakes not to transmit any of this data to any partners or to use it for commercial purposes.

X – Intellectual Property

All content on the Boat Builders website (texts, photographs, graphic elements, logo, layout, etc.) is protected by intellectual property law.
The texts are, for the most part, written by Jérémie FLANDRINThe photographs published on the site are by the following authors, depending on the case: The Boat Builders, Philippe Hudelle, Philippe Hudelle – SPL Tourisme en Pays de Saint-Omer ou Laure Decoster.
Any reproduction, representation, distribution, adaptation or exploitation, in whole or in part, without prior written authorization, is prohibited.
